It's something a lot of homeowners and those moving to new neighborhoods want to know. Especially if they have have children or grandchildren. And while we are over a month away from Halloween, knowing who lives down the street will become even more important for parents.

These Maps Show Where Convicted Sex Offenders Live

There is no doubt that concerned citizens want to know more information about where convicted sex offenders live. There are several different resources out there that help provide information about sex offenders and where you live. One such site is FamilyWatchdog.us where you can go and put in your address and see if any convicted sex offenders live in the area. This map also shows where schools are located on the map along with the convicted offender.

Another interactive map that is also easy to use comes from City-Data.com.

According to this map, there are more than 600 convicted sex offenders living in and around Lubbock. You can scroll in on the map and search your own neighborhood and street.

You can visit the map from City-Data here and even look up other cities across Texas. The map shows pinpoints where a sex offender lives. When you click on the blue pinpoint it shows you the sex offender's name and other information. That information includes the risk level to the community. You can visit Family Watchdog here and it works roughly the same way. Both are great tools to have for families.

Texas DPS Also Has A Sex Offender Registry

The Texas Department of Public Safety also has a registry you can search by putting in your address. That site is located here.
