San Antonio authorities say a man suspected of fatally shooting his estranged wife has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police were originally called at 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning to 10428 Arbor Bluff to assist in a child custody exchange between 37-year-old Richard Concepcion and his wife. That’s when a neighbor heard at least five gunshots.

Online court records show Concepcion had been in the middle of divorce proceedings since October 30, 2017, and that a temporary restraining order had been issued against him.

Authorities had already been called to the home several times prior to the shooting for domestic issues

Concepcion is believed to have shot his wife in front of a home during the exchange of their 18-month-old son, Aaron Joseph Concepcion. He reportedly fled the scene in a white 2016 Toyota Tundra with the child and an AMBER alert was quickly issued.

He was later found inside the truck in Guadalupe County with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. First responders attempted to save his life but were unsuccessful.

The 18-month-old was found unharmed in the backseat.
