The Texas Comptroller’s Office today released August sales tax revenue figures for the state.  Sales tax revenue for August was $1.98 billion dollars, up 11.9 percent compared to August of last year.  Sales tax allocations for area cities include Lubbock receiving $3.87 million dollars, a 4.5 percent increase from last year; Amarillo will receive $5 million dollars, up 10.4 percent from the previous year and Midland will receive $3.49 million dollars, up 27.4 percent from August of last year.
