Sales tax receipts for the Hub City are up slightly, according to the Texas Comptroller's Office.

Lubbock will receive about $3.86 million in sales tax revenue Monday, up 2.59 percent from July 2010.

So far, payments to the City of Lubbock to date for 2011 total over $29,774,000, up nearly 4.2 percent from the same period in 2010.

Other cities in Lubbock County have seen some growth as well, with New Deal’s sales tax revenue increasing by nearly 27.5 percent to almost $2,100. Slaton’s sales tax revenue has increased by 10.8 percent to over $32,300.

Not all within Lubbock County saw increases, with Wolfforth’s net payment dropping almost 6.8 percent to $23,828, and Shallowater’s payment dipping 4.7 percent to $5,670.

Overall, Texas cities will receive $315.5 million, up 6.2 percent compared to July 2010.
