Police Say Suspected Drug Dealer Shot by Fort Worth Officer
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Fort Worth police are investigating an officer-involved shooting of what authorities say was a suspected drug dealer who turned violent.
Police say when the man stopped by the officer for questioning Saturday night fought back, the officer unsuccessfully used an electronic stun gun to stop him. Then when the man got in his car, put it in reverse, ignored commands to stop and nearly hit the officer, the officer shot several times at him.
Authorities say the man, wounded in the torso, was able to drive a short distance but hit another car and then was arrested.
He's been taken to a hospital.
