Police Respond to Major Accident at Slide Road and North Loop 289

As of 8:20 a.m. on Friday, the Lubbock Police Department has closed down all eastbound lanes of the Slide access road to North Loop 289.

Police and emergency crews are dealing with a major accident near there and the eastbound lanes of that Slide access road are expected to be closed for several hours.

It’s reported that a pickup truck hit a pedestrian and that they’ve been taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Lubbock drivers are asked to avoid the area of Slide Road and North Loop 289 during their Friday morning commute.
