A Monday evening concert will go to benefit some local organizations.

A music recital will be performed on Monday evening by Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center faculty and students.

Music for the event, dubbed “Play it Forward” will include Chopin, Schumann, Beethoven, music from Broadway shows, and a tuba etude.

Proceeds from the event will go to benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates and the TTUHSC Lubbock Free Clinic.

TTUHSC student and performer Tanya Yajnik discussed the concert with KFYO, saying “Basically what we wanted to do was use our talents and our love for playing to benefit our community.”

The concert will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, January 28th at the Texas Tech Hemmle Recital Hall inside the School of Music. There is no admission fee, but donations are requested.
