On Tuesday, the City of Plainview appointed Timothy Gibson as the city’s new Fire and EMS Chief. Gibson has most recently served as the Managing Director of Harris County EMS District 9 and has more than 27 years of experience as a firefighter.

Before that, Gibson served in the U.S. Air Force for nine years and earned his bachelors of applied arts and science degree at Texas A&M University.

Gibson will begin his tenure as the new Plainview Fire Chief on December 1, 2018, filling the shoes of former Fire Chief Rusty Powers, who retired in May of 2017.
