One Suspect is Arrested for His Involvement in Local Shooting
Lubbock Police have arrested one of two suspects wanted for their involvement in an early morning carjacking that occurred Tuesday, July 2nd.
The incident happened at 2:45 a.m. in the 1300 block of 50th Street. According to a police report, two Hispanic males allegedly stole a car with the victim still inside.
When the victim tried to escape from the car, he was shot and the suspects then fled the scene. The victim has been identified as 41-year-old Michael McCoy and he was last reported in critical condition at a local hospital.
At 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, police say they found McCoy’s stolen truck in the area of South University Avenue and 124th Street. By 4 p.m., investigators had identified one of the suspects as 26-year-old Paublo Reyes and located him in the 1500 block of 38th Street.
Reyes was arrested for aggravated robbery and was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond. The other suspect in the case remains at large.
