One of Lubbock’s Favorite Taverns Is Going Through A Big Change
A big change is coming to one of Lubbock's favorite bars.
Savage Tavern opened in June of 2018 across from Texas Tech at 1625 University Avenue. They quickly became known as a great bar that had a relaxing atmosphere, a fun patio, and an excellent brunch.
Savage Tavern is also owned by the same great folks of a popular bar in the Depot District, Shotgun Sue's Saloon. Shotgun Sue's is well known for its atmosphere and drinks and it has become a go to spot in the Depot District and Downtown area.
Now the owners of Shotgun Sue's and Savage are teasing something new for Savage Tavern. A new experience inside and out and with some new menu items as well.
Back on April 16, Savage Tavern began teasing that starting April 21, they would be closed on Mondays and that "changes are coming... stay tuned". Well of course that got a lot of people's attention who love Savage Tavern. And just a few days ago, Savage Tavern posted a photo of the new concept. A Tiki Lounge... the Savage Tiki Lounge.
Savage is still open (except on Mondays) while they begin to roll out the changes.
I am looking forward to seeing what the minds behind Shotgun Sue's will do while transforming the old Savage Tavern into a Tiki Lounge. I expect it will be pretty awesome though and be another must-go place for those who enjoy not only the bar scene in Lubbock, but the food scene as well. The food at Savage has been excellent for a while now.
We can't wait to see the new look.
