In Floyd County, one person was killed Tuesday (September 3) in a two-vehicle accident.

According to a report from Texas DPS, the crash involved a 2011 Buick and a 2016 Ford pickup. The Buick was traveling west on FM 2286 when it collided with a Ford pickup that was attempting to turn into a residential driveway.

The driver of the Buick, 18-year-old Nehemaih Ascenscio of Lockney was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup was identified as 53-year-old Ramiro Gonzales of Lockney and suffered non-life threatening injuries despite not wearing a seatbelt.
