A train and a semi-truck collided Monday morning near Clovis, New Mexico, sending one driver to a Lubbock hospital.

The accident occurred at around 3:35 p.m. on Curry Road 6 just south of Clovis, according to the Curry County Sheriff’s Office.

A semi-truck owned by Ruan Transportation was struck at a railroad crossing by a southbound BNSF train, which partially derailed, but remained upright.

The truck, however, overturned onto the passenger side. The driver was air lifted by AeroCare to a Lubbock hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators are still trying to determine what led to the accident and who, if anyone, may be at fault.
