Today marks the 3rd day of the Mickey Patterson trial, during which evidence was presented that no DNA from the crime scene was matched to Patterson. He’s on trial for the murder of two state school workers in Lubbock county, 51-year-old Kay Harrelson and 61-year-old Peggy Merimon.

Skin from Patterson and another unknown male were found under Kay Harrelson’s nails. Patterson’s cell phone also sent signals to two towers the day of the women’s disappearance. The area is the same area where the women’s bodies were found, and records indicate that Patterson never visited the site before or after that time. Harrelson’s body was found in a ditch near Shallowater two weeks after the women disappeared. Merimon’s remains were found four years later in May of 2010 in the same area.
