Dallas Cowboys had a terrible showing during the NFL playoffs this year, and a lot of it was put on Mike McCarthy the head coach. Jerry Jones refused to talk about his job after the game starting rumors that Head Coach Mike McCarthy might be out at the Dallas Cowboys. At the same time the defensive coordinator for the Cowboys became one of the most popular coaches on the market with multiple teams that fired their head coaches this year. Some even thought that Jerry Jones would move Quinn into the head coach position.

A few days ago, rumors changed to say that Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy would be staying at Dallas, and he even came out and said he is not worried about his job. Today Jerry Jones himself stated that Mike McCarthy was never going to leave. Jerry Jones spoke to 105.3FM in Dallas and said, “The idea of Mike twisting in the wind just wasn't the case ... We did some things I'm really proud of.” According to CBS Sports, Jerry Jones blamed the media for taking his lack of response after the game as a sign that he was going to change coaches, and it was not.

Today we also have some great news about the Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn. Although he is one of the most sought-after head coaches out there right now, he is going to stay with the Dallas Cowboys for another year. The article from Cowboy Maven on FanNation states that, “two informed league source stated to CowboysSI.com on Thursday that Quinn got a “substantial raise” to remain in Dallas … with the pledge likely in the form of a future arrangement should Quinn still be here in 2023.”

So, if you enjoyed the Cowboys this year, they are in a position have a winning season again next year. Hopefully they can continue to play like they did in the season, in the postseason.
