Nicole Baxter has been named director of Lubbock-Cooper High School's Pirate Pride band.

Lubbock-Cooper High School on Tuesday (July 17) announced Baxter was promoted to this position after serving three years as assistant band director at the school.

Baxter is a native of Wichita Falls, Texas, and graduated from Texas Tech University.

This is Baxter's seventh year in public education. She has served as band director at Lubbock-Cooper Laura Bush Middle School and assistant band director for Archer City ISD.

"After student teaching at Lubbock-Cooper, I knew this was the place I wanted to call home," Baxter said in a press release from Lubbock-Cooper ISD. "I've loved watching this band program grow, and I can't wait to see where it goes next. We will continue to pursue excellence in all that we do, and will hopefully continue to grow our Pirate Pride band family."
