New Rick Santorum “Rombo” Ad Targets Mitt Romney, Uses Look-alike
I love some mudslinging political ads. While some think they may bring out the worst in candidates and the political process, some can bring out information on other candidates, in addition to having the possibility of becoming awkward comedy gold. Fortunately, I think I've found a new favorite for this round of campaign clashes.
One such ad was recently released by Republican Presidential candidate Rick Santorum, responding to the negative attack advertisements released by candidate frontrunner Mitt Romney. This particular ad used a Romney look-alike that is attempting to shoot mud at a Santorum cardboard cutout.
Personally, I think this is the best political advertisement I’ve seen in this particular campaign cycle. It manages to stay far more memorable than the average ads with pictures of candidates making goofy expressions over a soundtrack consisting of music worthy of a murder investigation television show and accusations of big-government dealings and ethical failures. I doubt it will be enough to pull the nomination toward Santorum's corner, but at least it's fairly unique.
Do you think Santorum’s ad went too far, or was it entertaining enough to actually have more staying power than most of the others? Let us know what you think.
