New Dean at Texas Tech School of Law
Texas Tech University has officially announced the new dean of their School of Law, Jack Wade Nowlin. Nowlin will replace Interim Dean Rick Rosen on July 15th.
Nowlin is a West Texas native currently serving as the senior associate dean at the University of Mississippi's School of Law. He has taught courses on constitutional law, jurisprudence, criminal procedure, criminal law, and academic legal writing.
Nowlin earned his bachelor's degree from Angelo State University in 1991 and has since earned a master's, doctorate, and PhD. An author of more than 30 articles, book chapters, and book reviews, Nowlin’s research interests concern judicial power, interpretive theory and constitutional structure. He received the Ben A. Hardy Faculty Excellence Award in 2011 for outstanding teaching, scholarship and service.
"I am so pleased to come back home to Texas after so many years away," Nowlin said. "West Texas is a wonderful place with wonderful people, and I still have family here. I know that this is the start of something truly special."
