The National College Baseball Hall of Fame has announced the creation of an award named after former President George H.W. Bush.

The George H.W. Bush Distinguished Alumnus Award will be awarded to collegiate baseball players who have gone on to distinguish themselves off of the playing field. Bush was a first-baseman for Yale from 1946-48.

According to the College Baseball Hall of Fame, the inaugural award will be presented on Nov. 13 at Union Station at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.
