Tuesday on The Chad Hasty Show, Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope joined the program to talk about Lubbock's power supply, questions that have arisen over the ability of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) to supply reliable power, and where Lubbock stands in the process of the long-planned transition to the new power grid.

Pope and Hasty discussed many different angles of the issue, and where the possibility of a pause in the switchover process stands for Lubbock.

Pope said, while speaking about what happened during the winter storm and loss of power in so many areas in Texas,

Twenty six million of twenty nine million Texans are served by ERCOT. Texas is the tenth largest economy in the world, on it's own. We've got to have a more hardened, more reliable electric grid.
