There was one seriously injured after a fire last night in East Lubbock.

Lubbock Fire Rescue said a man was burned by a fire in the 300 block of East Rice Street after they received a call just before 9 pm Monday, January 6th. Reports say that the man’s brother put out the fire even before firefighters arrived.

The fire was confined to a chair but a resident suffered “a decent amount” of burn injuries.  According to KAMC News, the man was not responsive when LFR arrived and his current condition was not available Tuesday morning.
