Miss Lubbock Organization member Maddie Bryan joined Tom and Laura to discuss her experience with the Miss Texas pageant circuit and how the organization helps support women.

Bryan, who was Brownfield's Miss Outstanding Teen in 2014 and is affiliated with the Miss America Organization, revealed that she earned scholarship money for her appearance in the Miss Texas Pageant even though she didn't win.

"The Miss Texas Pageant and the Miss America Organization is the no. 1 scholarship foundation for women in America," said Bryan. "I got over $1,000 last year and I didn't even win. I got 8th and I still got that much money."

The organization will be hosting a style show and silent auction this Saturday (June 20) at 2 p.m. at the Lubbock Cooper Performing Arts Center. The Miss Texas Outstanding Teen title winner be announced on July 3rd. The annual Miss Texas Pageant takes place Saturday, July 4.
