Monday on The Chad Hasty Show, Washington Times columnist and political analyst Matt Mackowiak joined the show to discuss the mid-term election races for the state of Texas, including the much-hyped race between Senator Ted Cruz and democrat challenger Beto O'Rourke.

Speaking about the media's continued focus on O'Rourke's fundraising, and the fact that the campaigns have yet to get into actual issues debate in the race, Mackowiak said,

O'Rourke has a problem. He has five or six positions on major issues that are well outside the mainstream of where the state of Texas is, and I don't think he's really paid a price for that politically yet. In fact, I think when he does we'll start to see this race go back to where it ought to be, which is an eight or ten or twelve point race.
