Lubbock’s Santa Land To Open December 10
It's beginning to look a lot like Santa Land time at Mackenzie Park. We previously reported that construction of Santa Land was underway and on Thursday, we finally learned the details of this year's Santa Land.
Santa Land inside Mackenzie Park will open to the public on Friday, December 10. This will be the 65th Anniversary of Santa Land in Lubbock and is a staple of Lubbock's holiday celebrations. Each year, over 50,000 people from Lubbock and the surrounding areas head out to Santa Land.
According to the City of Lubbock's website, Santa Land will be going back to the traditional format of walking around Santa Land this year. In 2020, Santa Land was switched to a drive-thru event due to the pandemic that drew long lines and wait times, and more than a few complaints on social media.
With the return of Santa Land to its traditional event that means each night beginning at 6:00 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be ready to greet the children and hear their Christmas wishes.
Santa Land will be open December 10 through December 23rd from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. As always, Santa Land is free to attend. Those who go to Santa Land will enjoy animated displays, bonfires, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, along with live entertainment, and concessions. And of course, we can't forget about the giant Christmas tree!
Drive around Lubbock this week and there is no doubt many are already in the Christmas spirit with decorations and lights up and on. So it makes sense why many are looking forward to Santa Land being open and being back to normal.
