Lubbock’s New Police Headquarters Still Under Construction
The new Downtown Headquarters for the Lubbock Police Department is taking shape and still under construction in Downtown Lubbock. The three story complex is just down the street from Citizen's Tower at 15th Street and Avenue K. In between the tower and the new Police Headquarters sits the new parking garage and some green space.
A report from November of 2021 claimed that the target date to move in to the new building was September of 2022, but unless things move pretty fast, it looks like that target will be missed. The good news is that the building doesn't look that far off from being completed.
The new main police station for the Lubbock Police will be three stories tall while taking up 50,600 square feet according to past reports.
When completed, the Lubbock Police Department will have it's main downtown building along with the three completed patrol division stations. All the projects including a new facility for municipal court was part of a $60 million dollar Public Safety Improvements project.
