Lubbock: The Land Of A Thousand Potholes
Lubbock: Come fall into our potholes, and never leave...
When one thinks of Lubbock, they may think of cotton, Texas Tech, wine, dust storms, and of course the wind. But now it is time to add potholes to list of things people should think about when they think about when they think of Lubbock.
According to KAMC a new report shows that potholes are all over the city and have now reached 1,000 potholes across the city. And now City of Lubbock officials want to do something about all the holes plaguing our streets.
The good news? It may not take too long to fix the pot holes. At least the ones the City knows about.
The unfixed potholes are long overdue, and more people are becoming aware as it’s become a nuisance.
Mike Gilliland is the Director of public utilities and said they have a goal to have 80% of the potholes fixed within 2 business days.
“We’re averaging between 800 and 1000 potholes a month repaired,” Gilliland said.
According to KAMC, since the start of the year, over 1,100 potholes have been fixed by the City of Lubbock. So see? Things could be worse when it comes to our streets.
