Every time I see something cool I want to try and do, Lubbock never has it and this is another one of those things.

Too Good To Go not only helps consumers but also businesses as well and I think it should come to the area. The goal of this app is to make sure food gets eaten and not wasted which is great for everyone.

No matter if you are a cafe, restaurant, shop or hotel you can participate. This app will allow customers to buy surprise bags from the shop at a great price and straight from the business.

According to their website, 1/3 of food is wasted and they want to change that. They have already sold 173 million surprise bags and counting. This means 174,128 businesses are reducing their food waste and helping the world.

So now it's my challenge for Lubbock businesses to do the same thing. All you have to do is list your surplus food on the bag and the customer will pay for it and come pick it up. It is really that simple. This gives the money in your pocket and gets new foot traffic in to try your food at a discounted cost that would have been thrown away.

You can read their impact report for 2021 here. They were even ranked #10 on the most downloaded app worldwide in the food and beverages industry.

Honestly, I think this is a great idea and am shocked it hasn't been a thing way sooner. You can find out more about Too Good To Go on their website.
