Lubbock Pride Festival ’14
Lubbock’s third annual Pride Festival will be held in August.
According to the group, they strive to create a family friendly atmosphere that allows the celebration of diversity within the community and will provide safe and fun day for members of the West Texas LGBT and Ally communities.
Lubbock PRIDE is a private civic organization that has existed since 2010 and their mission is to provide the LGBT and Ally communities a safe haven in the region by celebrating dignity, importance and merit of these communities.
The public event is free to attend. There will be various events including live music and a drag show. Officials with the LGBT civil rights advocacy group the Human Rights Campaign will also be on hand to discuss LGBT topics and issues.
