The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit has been recognized by the Texas Narcotic Officer’s Association. The unit was named Narcotics Unit of the Year during the Association’s annual conference. Several large drug busts this year helped bring attention to the Lubbock Narcotics Unit, including a discovery of over 800 marijuana plants and the arrest of a major cocaine trafficker.

A U.S. Attorney said of the unit “this unit conducts itself in a manner consistent with the highest ethical standards in law enforcement” and went on to say “they conduct each and every investigation in a thoroughly professional manner, providing the prosecutor with every shred of evidence to ensure that justice is done”.
