Lubbock museums will be participating in a week highlighting travel across the nation.

The Buddy Holly Center and the Silent Wings Museum are taking part in National Travel and Tourism Week, which was first celebrated in 1984.

Patrons are invited to buy one general admission ticket, and receive a second general admission for free at both museums. This means that patrons visiting one museum can get into the other for free.

National Travel and Tourism Week was established following a joint resolution of the U.S. Congress in 1983.

The local events are presented by Visit Lubbock.
