Got a mosquito problem? With all the rain we have had in and around Lubbock and with temperatures rising, you have likely seen a few mosquitos and more are likely to appear soon.

In the past, in Lubbock County you would call Vector Control to let them know of any real bad mosquito areas so they could come out and spray. But that is now changing.

Mosquito Complaints Have Been Transferred to the Portal

Lubbock citizens can now fill out service requests for Vector Control online. Those who fill out a form will be at to request the type of treatment needed. Whether it's for adult mosquitoes, mosquito larvae breeding areas, or areas where a public event will be held.

According to the City of Lubbock, the change was made from service requests over the phone to online so Vector Control could have better information.

You can fill out Vector Control requests here if you are having any mosquito problems.

How You Can Help Stop Mosquitoes

Citizens can help do their part by mowing tall grass and weeds and clearing out areas where water is standing. Doing these things will help cut down on mosquitos. When you are outside wear either long sleeves or wear mosquito repellant.
