Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope Announces Re-Election Bid For 2020
Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope announced Thursday on Facebook that is seeking a third term as Mayor of Lubbock.
Mayor Pope was first elected in 2016 and won re-election in 2018. In Lubbock, the Mayor serves a two-year term while other members of the Lubbock City Council are elected to four-year terms.
The last Lubbock Mayor to serve more than two terms as Mayor was Windy Sitton who served from 1998 until 2002.
In his campaign announcement Pope told voters, "Let's keep moving Lubbock in a positive direction".
