Lubbock Massage Spa Accused of Human Trafficking

A Lubbock massage establishment has been shutdown after an investigation by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Lubbock wasn't the only city that had a business closed. According to a report, 8 massage businesses across Texas were shutdown in this sweep.

Investigation Leads to Business Closures in Six Texas Cities

According to everythinglubbock.com, Best Massage Spa, located at 7412 S. University will be closed for at least six months due to suspected human trafficking. KAMC reported that there were two notes left on the door, one was from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The other was from "Emily" who wrote the previous owner is suspected of illegal behavior.

KAMC reported that the investigation showed various violations which included some employees not having a license, and that illicit ads connected the spa to offering "sexual services."

The investigators working with TDLR, according to the release, stated that all eight massage establishments being closed are owned by Ruiying Lian, Hongcui Hao and Tianli Wang and are connected through Tongfuxin LLC and Tongfu LLC.

Eight other businesses in six cities were shutdown, including two massage businesses in Amarillo. Investigators also found employees living at some of the businesses. The businesses being closed are the following according to MRT.com.

• Pattaya Foot Reflexology in Odessa
• Thai Massage in Odessa
• Family Reflexology (two locations) in Amarillo
• Best Foot Spa in Lubbock
• Julie’s Massage in Cleburne
• Tongfuxin LLC (doing business as A Pattaya Massage) in Kerrville
