Most in Lubbock wouldn't say that March is typically known for "warm" weather. Sure, maybe warmer than February. But warm? Probably not. Not until this year at least. If you thought the March of 2026 was hotter than in past years. You wouldn't be wrong.

Hottest March Ever in Lubbock

According to the National Weather Service, this past March was the warmest March ever recorded in Lubbock. According to KAMC, the National Weather Service says Lubbock broke high temperature records on seven days in March.

“The average monthly temperature in Lubbock was 62.5 degrees, easily breaking the old record by 3.3 degrees,” the NWS stated.

Amarillo and Midland also saw record high temperatures for March and saw their warmest Marches ever according to KAMC.

The warm weather we experienced in March does have some in Lubbock questioning what this Summer will feel like in the Hub City.
