Lubbock Man Faces Charges of Aggravated Assault and Murder
38-year-old Landon Terry was shot and killed Friday morning at a residence in the 6000 block of 88th Street.
Casey Owens, 38, the man believed to be responsible for the shooting, was taken into custody on Saturday after calling police and turning himself in.
A police report alleges that Friday morning, Owens was hiding inside the home of a woman he had previously dated, armed with gun.
The unnamed woman and Owens reportedly also lived together in that residence at some time in the past.
Just before 8:00am, Terry entered the residence, at which time Owens threatened both Terry and the unnamed woman. before shooting Terry multiple times. He then fled the scene.
Officers responding to the 9-1-1 call found Terry conscious, with multiple gunshot wounds and struggling to breathe. He was transported by EMS to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Owens is currently being held on a $500,000 bond. If convicted, he likely faces charges of aggravated assault and murder.
