Lubbock Homes Evacuated Due to Gas Leak

Lubbock Fire Rescue responded Friday morning for a gas leak.

18 to 20 houses in the 2400 block of 24th Street were evacuated. 24th and 25th Street were blocked off to traffic so crews could work to stop the leak. There have been no reports of injuries.

The City of Lubbock said, "A City of Lubbock Sewer Line crew did hit a gas line in the alley while working in that area."
