A state law enforcement officer was arrested on September 19, 2024 by Texas Rangers and booked into Lubbock County Detention Center.

Gary Wayne McMillian, 54, was booked on two separate counts of indecency with a child. KFYO has obtained the criminal complaint for the charge regarding McMillian.

According to the complaint, McMillian allegedly engaged in sexual contact with a minor in September 2008 and again in September 2012. Both counts occurred in Randall County.

A complaint was filed with the Randall County District Attorney's office on Thursday and a warrant was issued by the DA for McMillian's arrest.

Texas Rangers arrived to his Lubbock home on Thursday and arrested McMillian who has been employed with the Texas Department of Public Safety since 2003. His record did not display any disciplinary history prior to the recent charges.

He was released from the Lubbock County Detention Center on September 20th on $50,000 bond.
