Lubbock City Attorney Sam Medina has asked to be placed on voluntary paid leave from his position with the city.

The Lubbock City Council will hold a special meeting at 3 p.m. Thursday to consider placing Medina on administrative leave.

Medina's attorney made a public statement at 4 p.m .at City Hall amidst reported allegations of sexual assault allegedly committed by Sam Medina, against his son Eric's soon-to-be ex-wife, Angelina Medina. Medina plans to fight those allegations.

Reportedly, no charges have been filed against Sam Medina as of yet, who has hired local defense attorney Rod Hobson.
