The City of Lubbock will unveil the first sculpture in over 50 years to be placed in the Lubbock Cemetery. A Golden Day by Vivian Cooke will serve as a memorial to infants buried in the cemetery. The last sculpture to be placed in the Lubbock Cemetery was the Umlauf Angel in the 1950’s. Cooke has works displayed throughout the Lubbock area, and has taught art at several Lubbock ISD Schools throughout the past thirty years. The unveiling will be at 10:30 Saturday morning, June 18th.
