The Lubbock Area Republican Women (LARW) will be holding their next meeting on Thursday, April 15. The meeting starts at 11:30am at the Lubbock Women's Club at 2020 Broadway. The cost to attend the meeting also includes lunch.

There will be two features speakers at LARW's next meeting: Mark Lee Dickson and Jim Baxa.  Both Dickson and Baxa will be discussing the upcoming City of Lubbock referendum concerning the proposed ordinance to ban abortion within the city (the 'Sanctuary City for the Unborn' ordinance).

The LARW provided brief bios for both speakers:

Mark Lee Dickson is a Texas born and raised pro-life activist who fights for the rights of all human beings from conception to natural death.  He and his pro-life activism seek to defend the lives of the unborn and those who are medically vulnerable in hospitals.  He has been featured on Fox News, CNN, the Washington Post, Huffington Post and the New York Times.

 

Jim Baxa is from Lubbock and is married to Traci. They have five children and have homeschooled their children for years.  Jim received his doctorate in Physical Therapy from Creighton University and through his efforts with West Texas for Life is working to abolish abortion throughout Texas.

To attend the LARW meeting on April 15, RSVP's must be made by Tuesday, April 13 to Susan Cherry (e-mail: Cherry1111@att.net). Meals cost $18 per person and payment is limited to cash or check.

Early voting for the 'Sanctuary City for the Unborn' referendum, in Lubbock, runs from Monday, April 19 through Tuesday, April 27. Election Day is Saturday, May 1.
