The City of Lubbock is relaunching its LBKAlert platform and giving it a whole new look while adjusting what type of information is being sent out.

City of Lubbock Relaunches LBKAlert and Adds LBKInfo

According to a press release from the City of Lubbock, the LBKAlert platform will only send out urgent alerts that suggest citizens take action. For example, an alert telling citizens to take cover or to avoid an area.

For non-emergency alerts, the City of Lubbock has added the LBKInfo platform on Facebook. The LBKInfo Facebook page will alert citizens of road closures and other non-emergency event.

According to the press release, those who are already signed up for LBKAlert will not have to do anything.

How To Sign Up for LBKAlerts

If you have signed up previously for LBKAlert, you won't have to sign up again. If new to LBKAlerts, here's how you sign up.

For anyone wanting to sign up for the new and improved LBKAlerts:

  • Subscribe at LBKalert.com or
  • Text LBKAlert  or your zip code to 888-777
  • For alerts in Spanish, text LBKAlertES to 888-777

For those subscribers that have previously unsubscribed, you may resume receiving emergency alerts by sending RESUME to 88911.
