LPD to Shut Down Roads to Investigate Crashes
LPD crash investigators will be shutting down roads on Thursday to continue investigations of crashes, according to an LPD Facebook post.
Avenue Q at 26th Street will be shut down starting at 9 a.m. All northbound lanes will be shut down and traffic will be diverted east onto 27th Street. Investigators will also shut down one southbound lane of Avenue Q.
Once investigators are done with the Avenue Q closure, they will move to the 2600 block of Parkway Drive to map the scene of a Tuesday night crash involving 54-year-old Darnell Johnson, who was pronounced dead at the hospital after the accident. Officers will temporarily shut down all westbound lanes of Parkway in the 2600 block. Westbound traffic will be forced to turn onto Guava Avenue.
