A longtime area radio broadcaster has died.

Woody Van Dyke died Sunday at the age of 74, after a brief hospitalization.

Van Dyke served as the general manager of KJAK radio since 1986, and stayed active in the broadcast of local sporting events, particularly high school and collegiate games.

He received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Youth and West Texas Baseball in 2009.

Van Dyke is survived by his wife, Margie, two sons, and two daughters.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Church.
