Fans of Lonesome Dove will be excited about this news. The Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock will be hosting a public event along with the Lonesome Dove traveling exhibition.

Lonesome Dove Exhibition and Special Event in Lubbock

The Lonesome Dove traveling exhibition and public event on January 30, will be free for all who would like to attend. The event will be held at The Buddy Holly Center on 19th Street from 6-7:30pm.

According to a press release, the event will feature a presentation by Andrew Taylor, a film professor at South Plains College. Taylor will discuss the Lonesome Dove miniseries and the key themes related to the story and exhibition. Taylor will also discuss the impact Lonesome Dove had on film and television.

The traveling exhibition will be open until March 22, 2026. The exhibition is produced by The Wittliff Collections at Texas State University.

The Lonesome Dove exhibition features images taken during filming by Bill Wittliff who was the executive producer, photographer, and writer.
