Local Woman Exploiting Las Vegas Shooting for Money

A Lubbock woman is building a reputation on panhandling in major centers around the city.

Multiple sources report her exploiting the Las Vegas shooting to scam people for money, but she has denied all allegations. The woman claims that she did not tell people her family that is in Las Vegas, but instead that she is going through a hard time and could use some help.

The woman's daughter Krista said it's "Embarrassing and sad that my mother would do that."

The woman's family has apologized on her behalf and confirmed her scamming history. They said they want her to get help she needs and to get on a better path.
