Local Water Tower Malfunction Causes Overflow
Last night the water tower located at 74th Street and Genoa Avenue experienced an overflow which resulted in tower expelling water.
The condition was a result of a malfunctioned pressure transmitter that reads the water level in the tank.
This caused pumps in the system to overfill the tank.
The water in the streets was a result of the designed overflow and not a leak in the tank.
The pressure indicator has been repaired and the water was stopped last night shortly after staff noticed the tank was overflowing.
