Texas State Historian, Dr. Monte Monroe, will give a lecture on Saturday, March 23 at 2 p.m. at the Mahon Library.

According to a press release from the City of Lubbock, Dr. Monroe will deliver a lecture titled, "Historic Buildings of Lubbock". The lecture is part of the Lubbock Public Library's "Celebrate Texas History Month". According to the release, those attending will walk away with a great "appreciation of the local history of Lubbock, TX".

Governor Greg Abbott appointed Texas Tech faculty member Monte L. Monroe as Texas State Historian on September 26, 2018. Dr. Monroe's lecture will take place in the Mahon Library Community Room located at 1306 9th Street.
