After filing for bankruptcy for the second time in a row, it appears as though this is the end of the road for all Joann locations in Texas and beyond.

It was a good, over 80 year run for Joann's.

Joann's was a favorite among the crafty crowd and they actually saw an increase in business during the COVID pandemic, but in the year's since and with a tough economy, things have progressively gotten worse for the fabric and craft store. Within the last month Joann's has closed 500 stores nationally, including 18 stores in Texas.

But that wasn't enough to save the retailer.

According to USA Today, ownership of Joann's tried to find a more "favorable outcome" for the business.

"JOANN leadership, our Board, advisors and legal partners made every possible effort to pursue a more favorable outcome that would keep the company in business," the company statement reads. "We are committed to working constructively with the winning bidder to ensure an orderly wind-down of operations that minimizes the impact on all our stakeholders."

"We deeply appreciate our dedicated Team Members, our customers and communities across the nation for their unwavering support for more than 80 years," the statement continues.

Joann's joins a long list of big store chain retailers that have closed over the last couple of years as people's spending habits continue to change and online purchasing increases.
