Members that have joined come for a lot of different reasons.

"I love roller derby because it's exhilarating! And because I can be my most intense and most aggressive self, and that is so liberating and cathartic and fun! Roller derby is the single greatest thing that has ever happened to me. There is nothing that has brought me more joy and fulfillment," said Scary-Go-Round:
"I love roller derby because I feel like it makes me strong not just physically but also it improves my mental health and it gave me a bunch of new friends and role models! My grandmother also played roller derby apparently which I didn't learn until my own start it was interesting," said Dilemma.

But no matter how they have come to find it, they have all found their homes.
"Roller Derby found me during one of my darkest times; I was going through a divorce and needed a way to relieve some frustration. My niece was already playing and asked if I would volunteer, and after I saw the strong, hard-hitting, and phenomenal women in action, I knew I was hooked," said Bam Bam Block-Her:
Now if you don't want to join the team that is okay they are about to have their season opener and tickets are on sale now. You can expect a lot of fun and excitement to be had. It is like nothing you have ever seen.

"I love derby for a few reasons. I love it because it's inclusive! You don't have to be one size, one shape or even one gender to play," said Frida Beast.

The game is happening on Saturday, April 29th at 7 pm at the Prima Vista Events Center. You can purchase tickets now for $15 or at-the-door tickets are around $20 at the door.
They are located and practice at the SK806 Roller Rink new location at 12209 Geneva Ave. Lubbock, TX 79423.
You can follow them on Facebook for more updates and upcoming events.
