The South Plains Food Bank, inc. is doing something different for a fundraiser this year. They are hosting a new fun event and tickets are on sale now.

It is called the Chef Showdown and it is happening at Jones AT&T Stadium. They are having local chefs volunteer to come together and create dishes using only ingredients that come in a South Plains Food Bank box.

These chefs will have to get creative to win. People who attend will have the opportunity to meet with the Chefs, sampling their creations and watch the panel of judges decide a winner.

This is all a fundraiser for The South Plains Food Bank, inc. They are a "humanitarian organization dedicated to serving West Texas by providing those who experience food insecurity with a helping hand. The South Plains Food Bank, inc. also extends opportunities for community members to both engage in service, as well as for employment within an environment that promotes community interaction and is enthusiastic about aiding the conclusion of the poverty cycle."

The nonprofit is a community-based organization with the resources of a national campaign, currently employing more than 9,000 volunteers per year, with annual volunteer hours totaling over 40,000, and an outreach that extends through 20 counties in West Texas.

The event is happening at the Texas Tech Club West Side Club Level located in the Jones AT&T Stadium. The event is happening on April 20th, 2023 and kicks off at 6 p.m.

Tickets range from $50 and go up from there. General Admission gives you entry into the event and you will also be able to enjoy samples of the creations using ingredients exclusively from South Plains Food Bank boxes.
