In Texas, we all know and love barbeque. But have you ever thought about pairing it with coffee and breakfast burritos? A spot in Lubbock is doing just that.

Hill Barbecue was started as a food truck business by Andrew and Jewel Hill. It started in Levelland in 2018 until they moved to downtown Lubbock back in 2019 by serving up under a tent. The Hills then moved to a food truck, and now finally have a brick-and-mortar location.

They have been mentioned by big-name places like Texas Monthly magazine. Andrew Hill says barbeque has always been in his family. He grew up doing it every weekend and his first job was actually at Binghams Smokehouse for about 10 years. So he’s always loved the craft and serving people barbeque.

After moving to their second location near Lubbock-Cooper High School, they decided it was time to pull the trigger on a building and location. It worked perfectly to buy out Yellow House Coffee.

During the week, they’re serving up some delicious coffee, and on the weekends you can get barbeque and coffee.

This week the started serving breakfast burritos with their coffee and it is a perfect match.

I went out there to check it out because they have homemade tortillas and you know that is right up my alley.

Here is a look at mine.

The burritos come with fresh homemade tortillas, eggs, brisket, frijoles and cheese. I haven't had one with all this stuff in it. It was different and good.

You can now go see them at their location located at 3017 34th Street in Lubbock, Texas, or head over to their website for more details and reorder online.

They have new hours that started this week as well. They’re open Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. but the BBQ is only sold from 11 a.m. until sellout. They have been selling out their breakfast burritos around 10:30 every day this week.

You can always call them to make sure they still have food: (806) 632-3313.
